Michelle Smith serves as the Firm & Operations Manager at Drewniak Nicks Legal Defense, where she oversees the firm’s daily operations and plays a central role in supporting both the legal team and the clients they serve. A Hampton Roads native, Michelle brings extensive experience as a paralegal and a deep understanding of the legal process, allowing her to help ensure the firm’s work moves forward efficiently, thoughtfully, and with careful attention to detail. In addition to managing case operations and firm systems, Michelle assists with drafting complex pleadings and coordinating the many moving pieces involved in criminal defense matters. Known for her practical problem-solving and clear, matter-of-fact communication style, she approaches each challenge with a focus on organization, accountability, and results. Michelle believes that the legal system works best when it is both professional and accessible, and she is committed to helping clients feel informed, supported, and respected throughout their cases.
Michelle takes particular pride in building strong internal systems that allow the firm to deliver high-quality representation while maintaining a client-focused approach. Her leadership behind the scenes helps ensure that every case receives the attention, preparation, and care it deserves.
Outside the office, Michelle is a proud mother of four. Her eldest daughter serves in the United States Air Force, a source of great pride for their family. In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending warm days at horse shows with her family and is known for occasionally delivering a truly terrible joke at just the right moment.
